Tryouts will be held at King Philip Regional High School on
November 13 & 20 and December 4 & 11, 2011.

Please read all of the information provided for answers to your questions, especially first time parents, suprisingly it is easy... just keep reading...
Players should attend ALL tryout dates (for open and/or club level) for optimum evaluation by the program staff to
assure proper placement at the correct skill level.
Players should wear the numbered t-shirt issued to them at registration on each tryout date.
If a player misses the first date, they may attend the second date (the more opportunity to be seen by the coaching staff provides better chances for team placement). Please notify the club director and or coaching staff in advance, if possible, regarding anticipated abscenses during the tryout period.
If a player is missing on the final tryout date without prior notification to the club director or coaching staff, the player will be removed from consideration for a spot on a team within the club.
A financial commitment to the program is expected on the final tryout date. Players will not be placed on a team without their financial commitment.

Travel team selections (Open levels) will be made on the second tryout date; two weeks prior to the Club level teams.
Any player not selected for a travel team should attend the third & fourth tryout dates for placement on a Club level team.
It is the policy of the Metrowest Jrs. VBC to attempt to keep
all players at the club levels. Generally, 10 players are selected per team.
Teams are formed as fairly as
possible. The club must take into consideration the availability of gym space
and qualified coaching staff. Availability of teams will vary according to the number of tryout participants, players age, and skill level. Please see SELECTION / CUT PROCESS below.
Tentative team numbers may be (1-2) 18/17 Open, (1) 16 Open, (3-4) 18 club (combination of 18/17 players), (4) 16 club, (4) 15 club, (2-4) 14 club, and (1-2) 12 club.
Once teams are selected on the final tryout date practices will be every Sunday
in the same time slot at the same location (unless otherwise stated). Please see Schedule page for practice times for all teams.
PLAYERS SELECTED FOR THE CLUB in the 18 thru 14 & under teams will receive a quality indoor competition volleyball. Volleyballs must be brought to all practices and games.
12 & unders will use the club's "volleylite" volleyballs in practices and games.
USA Volleyball Age Divisions:
18's division:
Player who was born on or after September 1, 1993 and is a high school student during some part of the current academic year.
Once a player participates in a club or varsity program for any university, college, community college, or junior college, she is ineligible to play in any Regional or National JOVC qualifying and Championship events.
17's division: Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1994.
16's division: Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1995.
15's division: Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1996.
14's division: Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1997.
(13's play in the 14 & under division in New England)
12's division: Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1999.
(age 9-11 play in the 12 & under division)
Age divisions are mandated by USA Volleyball (governing body) and are not negotiable - no waivers are accepted.
Look for month and year of birth in the list below to determine proper age division.

SELECTION / CUT PROCESS
As much as we do not want to cut any player, it is often times unavoidable given the response we have each year.
There are 200 spots available across the entire club. Each year we have 250 - 300 players tryout for the 200 spots.
Thankfully, our Club continues to have an overwhelming response of participants
at our tryouts - due to our great staff and reputation for great training and family atmosphere.
We will only be able to retain teams in our club based on the number of qualified coaches to staff teams.
We strive to provide QUALITY versus quantity in our club.
Players in the 12 & under division WILL NOT be cut from the program, as they are generally first time players with less experience
and have not had the time to learn the game yet (due to this there is not a need for numbered t-shirts at tryouts, if there are extras at the end of the tryout sessions we will distribute to the 12&U's).
We will attempt to keep all 14 & under players if there is enough court space.
ATTENTION! On the last tryout date teams will be finalized within the first hour and a half (parents please plan pick up time accordingly).
The players will be called in and we will announce that they will take a water break AFTER a list of players numbers are called out.
These numbers will be the players that HAVE MADE a team for the upcoming season. After the list is read, ALL THE PLAYERS will walk away for their water break together. We feel this is the kindest
way to avoid embarrassment for any girl not selected for a team. At that point the players not selected are free to leave the tryouts.
All players that are selected for a team should return to the courts
to meet with the coaches. We will use the last half hour to verify uniform size, assign uniform numbers, and discuss other details for the first practice which will be January 2012.
CLUB COMMITMENT
This is when players will need to turn in their check for the program fee to their coach. All checks are made payable to "Metrowest Juniors". The balance of $430 is due in full. (12 & unders balance is $400).
If a player declines a position on a team and openings occur, the next player on the list will be contacted by the club director and offered participation in the club.
The Club offers and encourages pre-registration.

Pre-registration is preferred by Club.
The forms should be printed, completed and mailed at least two weeks prior tryouts.
All members should complete and mail registration materials prior to tryouts. Please bring a copy of your forms if mailed late to ensure participation on tryout date. If not mailed ahead, please have forms filled out to avoid a longer wait in line.
Registration may be done on site (but not preferred by club). There is an additional fee of $30 for on site registration. Any player under 18 years of age requires
a parent's signature on their registration forms.
Registration tryout fee is $ 50.00.
Tryout fee covers gym rental and a numbered t-shirt. Numbered t-shirts must be worn each week to the tryotus for player identification. T-shirts become the property of the tryout participant. Tryout fees are non-refundable.

Locally from Rt 109
Take Rt 109 to Millis. Rt 109 intersects with Rt 115 in Millis. Turn onto Rt 115 towards Norfolk. Follow Rt 115 to Norfolk center and turn right
onto Main Street (just after commuter rail "T" stop). Continue on Main Street and turn left (at yellow flashing light) onto Park Street. Continue to end
of road and turn left onto Rt 140 South and follow to KPHS on right.
Park in student parking area. Enter at front of building on the "bus circle". The field house is immediately inside this entrance on the left.
From Mass Turnpike
Take exit 11A to Rt 495 South. Use exit 17 to Franklin Rt 140. Follow Rt 140 South to Wrentham. KPHS is on the right. See above for parking and entrance instructions.
From Rhode Island on Rt 95
Take exit to Rt 495 North. Take "King Street" exit in Franklin. Turn right off ramp onto King Street. Turn right onto Rt 140 South and follow to Wrentham. KPHS is on the right. See above for parking and entrance instructions.
